Hazmat Shipping Guidelines

ShipX is now accepting hazardous materials (hazmat) products into our network. To ensure smooth processing of these products, please follow the guidelines below:

Hazmat Product Requirements:

  • Criteria: Products must meet specific safety standards.
  • Flagging: Hazmat products must be flagged in the ShipX portal as hazardous before being injected into the network.
  • Documents: The required documents (MSDS and UN Test Summary Documents) must be approved by ShipX before you create and send a shipment with hazmat items.

Noncompliance Penalty:

If hazmat products are inbounded without proper flagging, a per unit noncompliance penalty will be applied.

Hazmat Surcharge:

Orders containing hazmat products will incur a surcharge fee.

Hazmat Labeling and Packaging:

Merchants are responsible for properly labeling items containing lithium batteries, liquids, etc. ShipX is not liable for any claims or damages if this policy is violated. Packaging must be able to protect items during the delivery journey. ShipX does not assume responsibility to ensure your items are able to withstand the rigors of the shipping process.

Domestic Shipping Restrictions:

  • US Mainland Only: Hazmat products can only be shipped within the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories).
  • No Ship: Orders containing hazmat products destined for Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or PO/APO addresses will not be shipped.

Special Hazmat Classes and Quantities:

Certain classes and quantities of hazmat products are accepted only with written confirmation from ShipX.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure safe and compliant shipping of hazmat products with ShipX.
